2011 Intermedix EMSystems User Meeting
The 2011 Intermedix EMSystems User Meeting was held in Milwaukee, WI September 21 – 23. With a theme of Empowered Collaboration, the User Meeting brought together those in critical decision-making positions as well as those on the front lines of emergency medical management and response to share best practices, hear about new innovations, and set strategies for their organizations in the upcoming year. Most important, the User Meeting was an opportunity for those of us in the Emergency Healthcare and Public Health domains to meet or re-connect with colleagues across the country.
During the three days, attendees heard about a number of important topics, including:
- Looking back at experiences over the past year, including National Level Exercise involvement, multiple illustrations of actual event management, and examples of rapid system deployments.
- Examining best practices, such as using healthcare coalitions to drive statewide coordination, improving patient transfer times through the use of trauma dashboards, and innovative ways of applying patient tracking to SNS drills.
- Exploring new ways of addressing community needs, such as engaging the consumer or pre-patient in locating appropriate emergency services, simplifying workflows for paramedics by bringing together daily patient management and mass-casualty patient tracking, and gaining greater visibility to deployed vehicles for daily or emergency coordination.
Attendees of the User Meeting also had multiple opportunities to learn more about the two most recent acquisitions by Intermedix EMSystems: Fleeteyes and Collaborative Fusion.
With a broader reach to Public Health, Emergency Management, and Hospitals, the 2012 conference is sure to be even more engaging. We look forward to seeing you at next year’s User Meeting!
